OTTAWA, Kan. – The McPherson College women's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory at Ottawa on Saturday.
Head coach
Craig Holman's team improves to 10-7 overall, including a 4-0 ledger in KCAC action.
The number one doubles team combined of
Alexandria Garcia and
Vanessa Hofer combined for a 7-5 win.
Bella Ellerbee and
Taimi Nashiku also won by a 7-5 score at the number twospot.
Pia Hinricher and
Laureen Van Drunen won by default at the number three position, securing the sweep for a 1-0 lead.
Garcia needed to play an extra set, but rolled to a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 win at the top slot in singles action. Hofer played a tiebreaker in the third set. However, she managed to secure the 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) win at the number two position. Nashiku accounted for a 6-1, 6-3 victory at number three singles while Van Drunen notched a 5-7, 6-0, 10-7 victory at number four singles. Hinircher and Ellerbee played at the number five and number six spots, respectively. Each won by default for MC.
The Bulldogs return to action Monday, March 31, when they play at Tabor College at 3 p.m.
