Women's Tennis Picks Up Sweeps Over Tabor and Evangel

MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson College women's tennis team cruised to a pair of 7-0 victories over Tabor College and Evangel University. 

MONDAY – McPherson 7, Tabor 0 

MC cruised to wins at all three doubles matches by identical 6-0 scores. Alexandria Garcia and Vanessa Hofer notched a win at the No. 1 spot. Bella Ellerbee and Taimi Nashiku garnered a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles while Pia Hinricher and Laureen Van Drunen picked up the win at the No. 3 slot. 

McPherson College continued its dominance in singles play. The Bulldogs accounted for 6-0, 6-0 victories in all six matches. 

Garcia took home the win at the No. 1 spot while Nashiku snagged the victory at No. 2. Hinricher recorded the win at the No. 3 position. 

Ellerbee got the win at No. 4 while Ava Bolin garnered the victory at the No. 5 position. Maddie Dobson notched the win at the No. 6 position.   

WEDNESDAY – McPherson 7, Evangel 0 

The Bulldogs wasted little time in doubles action. The team accounted for 6-1 victories in all three matches. The tandem of Alexandria Garcia and Vanessa Hofer posted the victory at No. 1 doubles while Pia Hinricher and Laureen Van Drunen snagged the win at the No. 2 position. Bella Ellerbee and Maddie Dobson combined for a resounding 6-1 win at the No. 3 slot. 

Garcia, playing at the No. 1 spot for singles, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win. Hinricher notched a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the No. 4 position, giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 advantage. 

Van Drunen secured the match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot. Ellerbee notched a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 while Ava Bolin garnered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 position.  

Hofer tallied a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2.  

It marked the team's fifth 7-0 victory in six KCAC matches.

The Bulldogs return to action Monday (Apr. 7) for Senior Day against Sterling College.
