LINDSBORG, Kan. – The McPherson College men's tennis team earned a 4-0 victory over sixth-seeded Saint Mary Wednesday in the opening round of the KCAC Tournament.
Celian Botlan and 
Oscar Brouwer teamed up for a 6-1 victory at the top spot in doubles action. The tandem of 
Balazs Temesvari and 
Jayson Wasserfuhr combined for an identical 6-1 win at the No. 3 slot. Second-seeded 
Arthur Nardy and 
Simon Delgadillo were up 5-0 when the Bulldogs secured the doubles point for a 1-0 lead.
In singles action, McPherson College was ahead in all six matches. Once the team victory was clinched, the match was over.
Nardy secured a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 1 position. Delgadillo notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 while Temesvari garnered a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot.
Botlan, playing at the No. 2 slot, was up 7-5, 4-0 before the match was halted. Brouwer, at the No. 3 position, led 6-1, 4-4 while Wasserfuhr was ahead 6-2, 4-2.
MC has not lost a tournament match since the 2014 campaign. 
The Bulldogs return to action Friday at 9 a.m., when they take on No. 2 Bethel for a spot in the KCAC Championship. The match is slated to take place at Smoky Valley H.S. McPherson College lost a 4-3 battle to the Threshers on Apr. 12.
