How it Happened
The Bulldogs put on another dominate showing winning in straight sets 25-11, 25-11, 25-10. Setting the tone early, the Bulldogs got out to a 9-2 lead forcing the Tigers to use their first timeout of the game. Both teams would go back and forth sharing points before the Bulldogs went on a 6-0 stretch, closing the door on set one.
Starting where they left off in set one, the Bulldogs built a 7-1 lead to open the second set, before improving their lead to 12-3. Restarting play after a Central Christian timeout, the Bulldogs continued to roll, allowing the Tigers to score only 11 points and winning set two.
Central Christian put up valiant efforts in the early going of the third set, but the Bulldogs were still able to match each point the Tigers scored. When the third set was tied at 7-7,
Logan Hamilton's kill sparked a 7-1 run, forcing a timeout from the Tigers with the score at 14-8. Proving to be ineffective, McPherson proceeded to follow up with a 11-2 run, securing the three-set sweep over their cross-town rival.
Lily Gray fueled the Bulldog attack with a career-best 11 kills on an .833 hitting percentage, while
Enya Fierens controlled both ends of the court with three blocks and five aces. In her first varsity start,
Tori Buss anchored the back row with eight digs accompanied by
