Bulldogs Fall 1-0 on the Road to Evangel

McPherson, Kan. – McPherson traveled to Springfield, Missouri on Saturday to take on Evangel University. The Bulldogs entered the matchup aiming to rebound after a midweek draw with Tabor, while the Valor sought to bounce back from consecutive losses to top-10 opponents.

How it Happened
The action picked up quickly as the Bulldogs earned their first corner just six minutes into the match. Evangel soon seized momentum, firing off five shots and three corner kicks in a four-minute stretch. In the 20th minute, Evangel broke through when Emma Budimlya found the back of the net. McPherson responded with pressure of their own, nearly equalizing when Taylor Duvall created a chance, but her shot sailed over the cross bar.
 
Evangel opened the second half with a pair of shots on target, followed by the Bulldogs registering their first attempt on goal of the half. The two sides continued to trade chances throughout, forcing saves from both goalkeepers. In the 85th minute, Allyson Harrison was booked and shown the lone yellow card of the match. Despite late pressure, McPherson couldn't find the equalizer, and Evangel was able to hold on for a 1-0 victory.
 
 
Up Next
The Bulldogs are back on the road Wednesday for a midweek clash with the Sterling College Warriors. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
