Springfield, MO – On Saturday, the McPherson Bulldogs traveled to the Show-Me State for their second KCAC matchup of the season against the Evangel Valor. The Valor came into KCAC play hot off of four wins, but suffered their first loss of the year to 5th nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan three days prior to this one.

Location: Coryell Field

Records: MC 2-4-1 (0-1-1 KCAC), EU 4-1-1 (0-1-1 KCAC)

How it Happened
Evangel had fired off 10 shots in the first half compared to McPherson's five, but neither side was able to find the go-ahead strike in the opening 45 minutes of play. Alvaro Marchal came up with three saves in the half; on the other end, the Bulldogs found most of their offensive attack within the opening 12 minutes, getting off four shots with Sullivan's in the 3rd minute being the only one on target. The half ended with a 0-0 deadlock.

In the second half, it would be Sullivan and Nathan Van Wyck connecting for the opening goal of the match. As they've done multiple times this season already, Van Wyck scored off the assist of Sullivan for the 1-0 lead in the 60th minute of play. Juyoung Kim of Evangel was the only thing keeping the Bulldogs away from their first KCAC victory of the season, as the New Zealand native scored in the 73rd minute to knot the game at 1-1.

Van Wyck would push in the final stages of play as he fired three more shots towards goal, but Evangel keeper Davide Marzoli parried two of them away with his third shot being deflected by a defender. After the final whistle, both teams walked away with their first conference draw of the season at 1-1.
