Leavenworth, Kan. – The McPherson Bulldogs traveled to Leavenworth for their third straight KCAC road matchup to face the University of Saint Mary Spires. The Bulldogs entered the contest looking to build upon their 4-0 win over Sterling, while the Spires aimed to break through after two consecutive 1-1 draws.

How it Happened
Both sides battled for possession in the opening minutes, with Saint Mary generating the first real threats. The Spires tested the Bulldogs early, forcing a goal-saving block out of
Andrea Salas. A few minutes later, goalkeeper
Emily Singletary made a save on a slow rolling shot taken from inside the box. With 24 seconds left in the half, Saint Mary broke through with Yaneila Romanlopez slotting home a rebound to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
The Bulldogs looked for a response early in the second half as
Taylor Duvall sent a long range shot towards goal and forced a save from the Spires' keeper. Moments later,
Alyssa Hill nearly tied the game but sent her shot just wide of the net. In the 64
th minute, Saint Mary doubled their advantage on a corner kick taken by Kate Erpelding that dinked off the back post and went in, making it 2-0.
McPherson was unable to find the efficiency needed to level the match, finishing with two shots and three saves from Singletary in the 2-0 defeat.
