McPherson, Kan – The Bulldogs competed in two separate meets last weekend ahead of the KCAC Championships next weekend. They began their week in Emporia, Kansas at the Emporia State Invitational. Later in the weekend, they'd make the short trip to Kansas Wesleyan University to compete in the Coyote Classic.
At Emporia State,
Lamar Gordon threw a Shot Put of 16.19m (PR); this was a national B Standard throw as was good enough for 6
th place. Gordon's Hammer Throw would travel 52.10m and place him 4
th in the event.
Jacob Saul also broke his personal best Shot Put with a throw of 14.14m that placed him 9
th; his Javelin throw placed 10
th with a distance of 45.51 (PR).
Kamden Tackett threw his personal best in the Discus with a throw of 30.63m.
Brian Fackert finished 2
nd in the 1500m with a personal-best time of 3:55.30.
Eric Brown rounded out the Invitational with a personal-best 800m time of 2:02.92.
In the Coyote Classic, Gordon continued to throw far with a Shot Put of 15.76 (2
nd), a Hammer Throw of 51.59m (2
nd), and finished first in the Discus with a throw of 51.75m (1
st). Joshua Feguson made the trip to Salina and competed in the Shot Put where he placed 4
th with a throw of 14.93m. Tackett threw in the Javelin event and threw 48.22m; this was good enough for 4
th.
Matt Williams and
Austin Glezen ran in the 100m event; Williams Placed 3
rd with a personal-best time of 10.96 while Glezen finished with a personal-best 11.53.
Dylan Tingler and Fackert both ran alongside each other in the 800m and both finished with personal records. Fackert put up a 2
nd place performance with a 1:52.63 while Tingler finished with a time of 2:16.07.
Blake Posey highlighted the women's performances with a 1
st place finish in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.48.
Nina Zimmerman's 14.24 in the 100m was her personal best.
Johanna Walker had a personal best time of 2:39.74 in the 800m.
Cara Shultz finished 2
nd in the Shot Put with a throw of 12.41m and placed 3
rd in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 43.18m.
Kara Alexander's Shot Put traveled a distance of 11.86m, placing her 4
th in the competition.
