Chris Dawson is entering his third season as the Head Coach of the McPherson College Baseball program.
 
Coaching Highlights
In 2025, the Bulldogs improved their win total to 27 wins and 20 wins in conference. They also had three All-Conference selections including, Jace Essig who was awarded 1st team All-Conference and brought home a Gold Glove honor in the outfield. In Coach Dawson's first year as head coach (2024), the Bulldogs finished with 25 wins, including 19 wins in conference, and earned themselves a trip to the conference tournament where they made it to championship Sunday.

During Dawson’s time at McPherson, the Bulldogs have made 2 NAIA Opening Round appearances (2021/2022) and have been ranked in the NAIA top 25 multiple times with a program high ranking of 13th coming in the Spring of 2022. Coach Dawson has also coached multiple All-Conference athletes including two NAIA All-Americans (Trevor Johnson / James Canar).

Prior to his arrival in McPherson, Coach Dawson was the head coach at Southwestern College (NAIA/KCAC) for the 2022-2023 school year. Dawson has also had coaching stints at Central Christian College (NAIA/SAC), Hawaii Pacific University (NCAA D2), and Hesston College (NJCAA). Dawson has overseen the development of hitters, infielders, and been the base running coach during his coaching career.
