LaMonte Rothrock

Rothrock became the interim head tennis coach in February of 2011 and has agreed to remain in that position throughout the season. He spent the 2010 spring season as the squad’s assistant coach.

Prior to serving as an assistant for the Bulldogs, Rothrock coached at Nickerson High School. His leadership grew a NHS boys tennis program from five athletes to 23, cumulating with a 4A State Championship in 1994.

In 1993, he earned the 4A Boys Tennis Coach of the Year award for his growth of the Nickerson program. He has served as a tournament director for the Kansas State High School Athletic Association 13 times, while leading or volunteering at other camps and tennis organizations.

As a player, Rothrock was a four-year varsity letter winner at McPherson College and in 1983-84 ranked as one of the top five doubles players in the state of Kansas by the United States Tennis Association.

Rothrock has a master’s degree in counseling and school psychology from Wichita State University. He currently resides in McPherson, Kan. with his wife Brenda.
