Amanda Wright

Amanda Wright enters her first season as a McPherson graduate assistant softball coach in 2019.

After spending the 2015 season at King (Tenn.), Wright played infield, outfield and pitcher for three seasons (2016-18) at Averett (Va.). She helped guide the Cougars to consecutive berths in the USA South Championship title game in 2016 and 2017, including winning the tournament as a junior and qualifying for the NCAA Division III Softball Championship regional. Wright was voted to the conference's All-Tournament Team in 2017.

Wright was a member of the USA South All-Sportsmanship Team in 2016 and 2018 and earned Academic All-Conference honors in 2016 and 2017. 

Wright earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and biomedical sciences with a minor in physical education from Averett in 2018 and is pursuing a Master of Science in health and human performance with a concentration in movement and sports studies from Fort Hays State (Kan.).

Wright, from Salem, Va., attended Glenvar High School.
