Cy Rolfs

The 2012-13 season marks the third year at the helm of women's basketball at McPherson College for Cy Rolfs.  His career overall record is 21-36, 13-23 against conference opponents.

The Lady Bulldogs posted a 14-15 overall record last season, giving coach Rolfs the second best record in the last ten years of the program.  Three of his players were awarded All-KCAC honors after going 9-9 in the conference.  The season came to a conclusion in the first round of the KCAC tournament against Kansas Wesleyan.

Rolfs was named the head coach of the women’s basketball program in April of 2010 and guided MC to a 6-22 record (4-14 KCAC) in his first season. His first win as a collegiate coach came on Nov. 2 against Haskell Indian Nations University, 70-64. The Bulldogs fell twice to the Indians the previous season.

Rolfs, a 2008 graduate of McPherson College, spent three seasons as the head boy’s coach at Natoma High School (Kan.). Along with coaching boy’s basketball, Rolfs served as the assistant athletic director and an assistant track coach for the Tigers.

Familiar with the KCAC, Rolfs spent two seasons as a member of the McPherson College men’s basketball team under long time Bulldog coach Roger Trimmell. During his time as a Bulldog, Rolfs was named a 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, while MC made two appearances in the KCAC Tournament quarterfinals.

Rolfs graduated from McPherson College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He is currently working on a master’s degree in education from Fort Hays State University.
