Whitwell made five saves on 15 shots for the week and earned her first career shutout against Manhattan Christian. On the year, she holds a 2-1-1 mark between the pipes with 20 saves and a .833 save

Last Week for the Bulldogs
McPherson went 2-0-0 last week in a pair of home games against Manhattan Christian College and Briar Cliff University. The Bulldogs only needed one goal to slide past Manhattan Christian last Wednesday night. Amanda Aragon delivered the eventual game winning goal just outside the six-yard box off a precise pass from Haley Cook.

Over the weekend, the Bulldogs extended its winstreak to two games with a 5-0 thumping of Briar Cliff. Rachel Cornell tallied three goals in the first 25 minutes of the match to record her first career hat trick, while Aragon added two more before halftime to extend the Bulldog lead to 5-0. McPherson finished the match with 19 shots, including 10 on frame.

Scouting Central
Much like McPherson, Central Christian (2-1-1) enters the midweek match riding a two game win streak. The Tigers recent victories came against Southwestern Assemblies of God (1-0) and Dallas Christian College (6-0).

Freshman midfielder Stephanie Street leads the team with three goals, including a two-goal effort against Dallas Christian. Street notched the Tigers lone goal in their 1-0 win against Southwestern Assemblies of God to earn her first collegiate game winning goal. The 5-6 native of Flower Mound, Texas, enters the match with 14 shots, including six shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Leah Stringer has been the focal point of the Tiger defense to this point in CCC’s young season. Stringer earned MCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a seven save shutout of Tabor College on Sept. 1. On the season, she has tallied 23 saves and a .885 save percentage.

Mike Reimer is in his 15th season at the helm of the Tigers women’s soccer program. A former player and graduate of CCC, Reimer amassed a 129-111-15 record while guiding Central Christian.
