Shawnee, Okla. – The McPherson College men’s soccer team allowed a goal in the 80th minute, dropping a 1-0 decision on the road at Oklahoma Baptist University Friday afternoon in Shawnee, Okla.

McPherson fell to 3-3-1 on the season, while the Bison improve to 4-1-1.

The two sides played even soccer for 79 minutes of the match, until OBU scored the match’s lone goal in the 80th minute when Cristian Sampaio hit a bouncing ball towards the net that beat Blake Jett (Fort Worth, Texas), the McPherson goalkeeper.

The Bulldogs finished the match with seven shots and three shots on goal. Senior forward Brent Mulford (Topeka, Kan.) led the team with three shots, while Geverton Ost (Porto Algre, Brazil) came off the bench to record two.

Jett tallied three saves while allowing one goal in the loss.

McPherson returns to action Saturday against Mid-America Christian University. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m. in Oklahoma City, Okla.
