McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College men’s and women’s tennis team continue its three-match home stand, as the Bulldogs take on NCAA Division II Newman University on Wednesday, March 30. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at the McPherson High School Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs are fresh off a sweep of cross-town rival Central Christian College. The women (1-1) defeated the Tigers 8-1, while the men (1-1, 0-0 KCAC) picked up a 5-4 victory.
The Jets women’s team enters the week with an 11-5 overall record following a 9-0 win at Texas Lutheran University on March 22. In that match, NU surrendered just one game in singles play, including a 6-0, 6-0 sweep by Laryssa Ferreira at No. 1.
On the men’s side, Newman is riding a two-match win streak while owning a 6-6 overall record on the year. The Jets previous two victories came at Texas Lutheran University (8-1) and against Tabor College (Kan.) 9-0.
