McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College men’s tennis team fell, 8-1, Friday afternoon against NCAA Division II Newman University.
With the result, McPherson falls to 2-2 on the season, while remaining 1-0 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference action.
The Bulldogs lone match victory on the day came at the No. 1 singles position as sophomore Vyacheslav Bukatin (Moscow, Russia) defeated Jimmy Dunseith, 6-4, 6-3. Newman defeated McPherson in all other positions.
McPherson will return to action on Monday, April 11 when they return to Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference action against Southwestern College. Doubles play is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. from the McPherson High School Tennis Center.
