St. Louis, Mo. – It was another save by the Vorhees sisters as the MC women's tennis team nearly got swept by NCAA D-II University of Missouri-St. Louis in Missouri. A win at No. 1 doubles by Brooke and Nikki Vorhees earned McPherson the sole point in their 8-1 loss.
The Vorhees sisters won the top doubles position, 9-7, to Parra/Duchaine of the Lady Tritons. MC fell at both the other doubles spots 8-2 and 8-1.
It was a clean sweep at singles for UMSL with N. Vorhees getting the closest to a victory at No. 1 singles at 6-4, 7-5. Claire Crossman and B. Vorhees each dropped their match 6-3, 6-2.
Mac will take on NCAA D-III Fontbonne University on March 16th at 4:00 p.m. (CT) in St. Louis.
