McPherson, Kan. – With their 7-2 victory over Friends University on Monday, the Bulldog tennis squad is now 6-0 in the conference and just Bethany College stands in their way of a regular season KCAC title.
The top doubles combo of Joan-Marc Fajula Rodriguez and Ahmed Lahlou struck first for MC as they won 8-2. The Carrillo duo and the tandem of Hugo Ball-Greene and Allen Darmawan both won their matches 8-6 at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
In singles, Jose Maria Carrillo Reina had the shortest match, winning 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6. Ball-Green claimed the match for Mac with his 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 4 position. Senior Jaime Roman won at the No. 5 spot 7-6, 6-4 and then Fajula Rodriguez put Mac up 7-0 with his triumph at the top position, 7-5, 1-6, 6-1. MC lost at No. 2 and No. 3 in intensive three-set matches.
McPherson will travel to Lindsborg, Kansas on April 21st for the regular season finale against Bethany College starting at 11:00 a.m. (CT). The winner of the match will be crowed the 2015 KCAC Regular Season Champions, a title that the Swedes have claimed for the past several years.
