McPherson, Kan. – The Bulldog soccer team took it to the Manhattan Christian College Thunder on Wednesday, winning 5-0. The victory pushes Mac to 2-3 on the year.
Junior transfer Jesus Pescador got the score-fest started for MC just four minutes into the contest as he slotted a Brayam De La Cruz ball for what ended up being the game winner. The junior scored his second goal of the match 10 minutes later as he put a Greg Roller pass into the back of the net. Roller added another assist to his day as he played Christopher Kelly in the 31st minute to push the score to 3-0. Roller was not done for the day as he decided to add a goal of his own just three minutes before the break; Omar Perez delivered the ball for Roller.
Leading 4-0 at halftime was not enough for McPherson. The Bulldogs put the fifth goal on the board in the 49th minute as Kelly netted his second goal of the match off of Perez's second assist. The MC reserves played the majority of the final 40 as the 'Dogs coasted to the 5-0 win.
Mac took 28 total shots in the match with 10 going on frame. Perez attempted a team-high six tries but was unable to get one in between the pipes. Kelly took five shots and was able to place three on target. Senior Kevin Ndongo took three strikes at goal and was followed by five others who had two.
Aaron Parrott recorded the win in goal for the 'Dogs. The junior recorded four saves in his first 90 minute shutout of the season.
The Bulldogs hit the road for their next outing as they are slated to face Mid-America Christian University on Saturday, September 19 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; start time for the men's match is set for 3:00 p.m. (CT)
