McPherson, Kan. – In the battle for the KCAC Regular Season Championship, the McPherson College men's tennis team led 2-1 after doubles but fell just short of Bethany College in singles, losing the match 5-4.
The No. 3 tandem of Ahmed Lahlou and Hugo Ball-Greene made easy work of their opponents, winning 8-1. After losing at the No. 2 spot, Joan-Marc Fajula Rodriguez and Hector Carrillo Perales held off a late Swede charge at the No. 1 position, winning 9-7.
In singles, Ball-Greene had an easy go at No. 4, taking down his foe 6-1, 6-1. Bethany then won their next three points to take the lead 4-3 with two positions still playing. Carrillo Perales won his three-setter to tie things up at 4-4. The last man standing for MC was Juan Alejandro Jimenez at the No. 5 slot. The freshman lost the first set 6-4 but evened the match with a 6-3 win; sadly, he lost 6-2 in the final set.

Though they finished the regular season as a runner-up, the Bulldogs will get a chance at the 2016 KCAC Tournament title next week in Wichita, Kansas. Mac will take on KCAC No. 3 Friends University in the opening round on April 29th; the 'Dogs defeated Friends 6-3 in the regular season.
