KCAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championship Preview

WICHITA, Kan. - The 2016 KCAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championships will take place at the Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center, April 29-30. The women's semifinals will take place Friday, April 29 beginning at 9 a.m., while the men's semifinals are slated for approximately 1 p.m. Women's finals will commence on Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m., with the men's finals beginning at approximately 1 p.m.
  
Women's Semifinals - Friday, April 29 - 9 a.m. (Bracket)
  
No. 2 Southwestern vs. No. 3 Ottawa 
  
In the first round of the 2016 KCAC Women's Tennis Championship the No. 2 seed (RV) Southwestern College (17-5, 7-1) takes on the No. 3 seed (RV) Ottawa University (19-7, 6-2). The Moundbuilders are 6-1 in the month of April, while the Braves are 5-2 over the same span. The two teams met on April 20 in Winfield, Kan., where Southwestern came out on top winning 5-4.
  
No. 1 McPherson vs. No. 4 Kansas Wesleyan
  
KCAC Regular Season Champion and No. 1 seed (22) McPherson College (11-4, 8-0) takes on No. 4 seed Kansas Wesleyan University (7-7, 5-3). The Bulldogs are undefeated in conference play and on a seven-game winning streak, while the Coyotes went 4-3 this month and are currently on a two-game winning streak. During the regular season Kansas Wesleyan fell to McPherson 2-7 on April 9.

No. 2 McPherson vs. No. 3 Friends
  
In the first round of the 2016 KCAC Men's Tennis Championship the No. 2 seed (12) McPherson College (11-6, 7-1) takes on No. 3 seed Friends University (6-5, 6-2). The Bulldogs are 7-2 in April, with it's only conference loss in that span being against (21) Bethany College. The Falcons are 5-2 in the month of April and are currently on a two-game winning streak. The two teams met on April 14, with McPherson winning the match 6-3.
  
No. 1 Bethany vs. No. 4 Southwestern
  
KCAC Regular Season Champion and No. 1 seed Bethany College (12-2, 8-0) takes on No. 4 seed Southwestern College (9-13, 5-3). The Swedes last loss came on March 11 against Seward County Community College where they fell 8-1. The Moundbuilders went 4-3 this month, winning their last four regular season matches. During the regular season Bethany defeated Southwestern in Lindsborg 8-1 on April 9.
  
Locations are subject to change, due to weather, follow @KCACsports for further information. Winners will advance to the championship matches on Saturday with women's finals beginning at 9 a.m. and men's finals immediately following at 1 p.m. All-Conference awards will be presented following the conclusion of both championships.
