Box Score EMPORIA, Kan. (macbulldogs.com) --- The McPherson College men's tennis team closed out its fall season Thursday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to NCAA Division II Emporia State University at the Milton Tennis Courts.
The Bulldogs (0-1) grabbed their initial point at first doubles as
Ahmed Lahlou (Casablanca, Morocco, Groupe Scolaire Anfa) and
Hector Carrillo Perales (Barcelona, Spain, Bon Salvador) defeated Patrick Cameron and Matheus Mota, 8-4.
Jacob Turley (Milton Keynes, England, Cedars Upper School) and
Andreas Huber (Forstinning, Germany, Franz-Marc-Gymnasium) fell 8-3 at the No. 2 spot, while
Juan Alejandro Jimenez (Pereira, Colombia, Liceo Taller San Miguel) and
Leandro Neix Bazzanini (Itapetininga, Brazil, Colegio Objectivo) took an 8-5 loss at the No. 3 spot as the Hornets (7-1) took the final two doubles points.
McPherson picked up two more points in singles play as Carrillo picked up a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over Cameron at No. 4 singles and Huber toppled Anton Levanovich by a 6-0, 7-6 (3) score at No. 6 singles.
Lahlou fell to Gerard Pont, 7-6 (6), 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Turley went down to Oliver Dixon 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, Jimenez lost to Charles Gortzounian, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and
Julien Bodin (Cartagena, Spain, Las Salinas) was stopped by Mota, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
The Bulldogs are now idle from competition until they face Newman University on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.
