GULF SHORES, Ala. (macbulldogs.com) --- The McPherson College outdoor track and field team posted a pair of All-America performances as the 2018 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships wrapped up Saturday evening at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium.

The meet was suspended twice before action on the track started due to lightning in the area and a deluge of rain. All told, the delays set the meet schedule back nearly two hours and forced meet organizers to employ a rolling schedule.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team of Matthew Bouwkamp (Broken Arrow, Okla., Lincoln Christian HS), Xavier Taylor (Waynesville, Mo., Waynesville HS), Myles Sample (Houston, Texas, Barbers Hill HS) and Hunter Sury (Katy, Texas, Katy HS) took seventh in a time of 41.92 seconds, while Amy Braimbridge (Connolly, Australia, St. Stephens School) came home fourth in the open 400 with a 55.62 clocking.

It is the first outdoor all-America honor for Braimbridge, who also took fourth in the 400 at the indoor championships in March.

In the final team races, the McPherson women tied for 46th place with five points, while the McPherson men tied for 56th with three points.
