Hillsboro, Kan. – The McPherson College men's and women's tennis teams were back on the court for the third time in as many days, this time going on the road to take on the Tabor College Bluejays. It was a perfect day on the court for both Mac teams. Neither Bulldog team dropped a match that was actually played.

The Bulldog women gave up the no. 3 doubles and no. six singles line, but won the seven other matches, winning the dual 7-2. Both Bulldog doubles teams, Brittany Zipf (Jr. Rockhampton, Australia) and Erica Paradise (Fr. Bakersfield, Calif.) at no. 1, and Besa Bwalya (Jr. Hoisington, Kan.) and Zoe Bouwmeester (Sr. Zupthen, Netherlands) at no. 2, won their matches by identical 8-1 scores to take a 2-1 lead heading into the singles portion of the dual.

In singles, the Bulldogs won all five matches played, and four of the five in straight sets. The only match to go into a decisive third set, was Bwalya's match at no. 2. She won the first set 6-2, then dropped the second 6-0. She regrouped in the third set and finished the match 6-3. The four other wins came from Zipf at no. 1, 6-0, 6-1, Paradise at no. 3, 6-3, 6-3, Bouwmeester at no. 4, 6-0, 6-2, and Sydney Hicks (Fr. Thornton, Colo.) at no. 5, 6-3, 6-1.

For the Bulldog men, they picked up their fifth win in a row, defeating the Bluejays 8-0. The Bluejays had only five players available so they automatically forfeited the no. 3 doubles line. The no. 6 singles line would have been a forfeit as well, but Bulldog head coach, Rafael Bulnes, decide to rest a couple of guy, and by doing so elected to not put someone on the six line, thus there were only 8 points available, all won by the Mac men.

The Bulldogs started with sweeping the two doubles matches played. Nicolas Wahl (Jr. Koenigstein, German) and Rick Sakamoto (Melbourne, Australia) started things off with an 8-0 win at no. 2, and then Jacob Turley (So. Milton Keynes, England) and Julien Bodin (So. Cartagena, Spain) followed suit at no. 1, winning 8-2.

In singles, Bulnes shuffled his lineup, taking Turley, Bodin and Sakamoto off of the no. 1, no. 3, and no. 5 lines. Juan Jimenez (Sr. Pereira, Columbia), who has played at the top of the lineup for most of the season, was moved back to the no. 1 line and he won easily 6-0, 6-1. Wahl moved up to the no. 2 position where he won 6-1, 6-1. At no. 3, Bulnes went with Jakob Komel (Fr. Ljubljana, Slovenia), won a tight set, 6-3, but then rolled in the second set 6-0. Bulnes moved his no. 7 and 8 players up to the 4 and 5 spots, and they didn't miss a beat. Both players, James Lee (So. Cambridge, England) at no. 4, and Kentaro Oya (Fr. Saitama-shi, Japan) at no. 5, only dropped only one game in their perspective matches. Lee won 6-0, 6-1, and Oya won 6-1, 6-0.

Both Bulldog teams are now 5-6 on the season. They will get a couple of days off, before taking on the Sterling College Warriors at home on Thursday afternoon. Weather permitting, the match is slated for 3:00 pm at the McPherson High School courts.
