McPherson, Kan. – Coming off a big road win on Saturday over Bethany College, the McPherson College women backed it up with a 78-62 win at home over the Bethel College Threshers.

With the exception of a few moments here and there, the Bulldogs were in control and dominant on both ends of the floor for much of the game. Defensively they held Bethel's sharp shooting senior, Kendall Michalski, who put up 40 points at the Sport Center earlier in the season, during the McPherson Classic, to just 11 points.

The Bulldogs won three of the four quarters offensively. They had a one point lead, 19-18 after the first 10 minutes, but stretched that to nine points, 38-29 at the halftime intermission. The third quarter belonged to the Threshers, 17-15 to trim the Bulldog lead to seven points, 53-46, but the final period was all Bulldogs. They closed out the game winning the 4th quarter 25-16 for a comfortable 16 point victory.

Key Statistic

The pounded the offensive glass to the tune of 25 boards, one more than the Threshers had defensive rebounds.

By the Numbers

Coach Quote

"Our focus was to build off the win against Bethany and I think we did that. I felt like it was one our more complete games on both ends. Far from perfect, but small steps forward is what we need. Maison had her best game of the year and KB has put some solid numbers the past few games. Dy'mond was that engine that kept up going. Brittany had a monster 2nd half and Madelyn was very solid on both ends as well. Now we build to the next one at Friends." – Coach Nichols

 Next Up

With the win, the Bulldogs are now 6-3 on the year and 2-2 in KCAC play. They will be back on the road Thursday, in Wichita, Kan., taking on the Friends University Falcons.
