Bulldogs Fall in Four to #1 Park

Parkville, Mo. – The McPherson College volleyball team went on the road Wednesday night to take on the best of the best in the NAIA. They travelled to Parkville, Missouri to take on the Park University Pirates, one of the premier programs in the NAIA, and currently ranked #1 in the nation.

The Bulldogs weren't intimidated by the Pirates' current ranking, or the history of the program. They came out loose and took the opening set from Park 25-23.

After the first set, the Pirates regrouped and won the next three sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-20

Key Statistic

The difference in the match wound up being on the offensive side. The Bulldogs hit .163, while the Pirates were just south of .300.

By the Numbers

Offensively, the Bulldogs finished with 47 kills on 147 attempts with 23 errors, giving them that .163 hitting percentage.

Forty-five of the 47 Bulldog kills had an assist attached to them.

On defense, the Bulldogs recorded 61 digs, and five blocks.

 Next Up

The Bulldogs are back in conference play this weekend, going on the road for a pair of KCAC matches in York, Nebraska. They will play both York College and Avila University with match times still to be determined.
