McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team moved to 8-0 on the season with a pair of wins at home on Saturday over the Doane University Tigers. Â
The Bulldogs got the bats going early against the Tigers in game one, and rolled to a 10-1 win. Alex Escobar got the start and went six strong innings. He allowed just one run, on seven hits, with eight strikeouts and no walks in moving to 3-0 on the season.
In game two, the Bulldogs won 12-8, but it was an uneasy win, as they were never able to completely pull away from the Tigers. They were actually out hit by the Tigers 13 to 10, but were able to get a few more hits in key moments than the visitors. The game two win went to Zach Perkins on the bump. He worked two innings, and gave up just one run on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
