McPherson, Kan. – They say all good thing must come to an end. For the McPherson College volleyball team, that was the case against the Hastings College Broncos on Saturday night. The Bulldogs' 10 match win streak came to an end as they fell to the Broncos in four, 25-23, 19-25, 16-25, 23-25.
Give credit to the Broncos, after the opening set loss, they made the right adjustments, keeping the Bulldogs off balance. They also used their height and length on the block to give the Bulldog hitters fits.
The Bulldogs fought to the last point, but in the end, they were unable to stop the Broncos, who are a very talented team, and better than their 9-9 record would indicate.
The toughest part of the loss was not that it broke their streak, but that it occurred on Senior Night. Before the match, the Bulldogs honored Mady Woog, Riley Bradbury, Reven Bradbury, Sydney Burton and Trisha Matthewson, who will all graduate this spring.
