McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College tennis teams opened up KCAC play on Saturday, hosting intra-county rival Bethany College at the Bulldog Tennis Center. Both Bulldog teams picked up dominant wins over their counterparts from just up the road in Lindsborg, Kansas.

The Bulldog women cruised to an easy 7-0 win over the Swedes, losing a grand total of 15 games over the course of the 9 matches played. Coach Allen commented on the performance saying, "It was good getting a straight forward conference win to start out the KCAC portion of our schedule. It was awesome to see Savannah, Tori and Sydney have some success today and show the true depth of this women's team."

On the men's side, the Bulldogs picked up an important win in their bid for another KCAC championship defeating their rivals from up north, 6-1. The Swedes' top two singles players, which also make up their #1 doubles team, are talented. They accounted for the only two match losses for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs took the doubles point by winning at the #2 and #3 doubles positions. They were just a few points away from a doubles sweep, but came up short at #1, falling to the Swedes 6-4. The Bulldogs regrouped after doubles, and dominated the singles portion of the dual winning five of the six matches.  Coach Allen commented saying, "It was a good battle in doubles Bethany came out strong and pushed us, and I think that really juiced us for singles. I was proud of the resiliency our guys showed."
