McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College softball team moved their record north of .500 with a pair of wins on Tuesday against the Dakota State University Trojans.

The Bulldogs pounded out 11 hits in game one, and defeated the Trojans 9-2 behind the hot bat of Maile Deutsch who was 2 for 2 with a double and a home run. Others with multiple hits included Destiny Bacon, Taylor Perez, and Macee Hollins.

Brittany Baroni was in the circle for the Bulldogs in game one. She worked the first four and a third innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Shelby Bonn came one in the fifth, to finish things out. She pitched two and two-thirds, holding the Trojans hitless and scoreless while recording two strikeouts.

The Bulldogs kept things rolling in the second game. They completed the sweep by winning the finale 7-2. Reagan Kleppe had things working in the circle for the Bulldogs. She went six innings, scattering just four hits and keeping the Trojans off of the scoreboard. She struck out five and gave up zero free bases. Katy Wilson came out of the pen to pitch the seventh inning, allowing two runs on three hits.

Offensively, Destiny Bacon and Kylecia Taylor led the attack going 3 for 4. Bacon was just a home run shy of the cycle, while Taylor had three singles and scored twice. Deutsch continued to see the ball well. She went 2 for 4 with two more doubles. Brandy Trengove had the big hit for the Bulldogs, a two run home run that got out of the yard in a hurry.

"Very proud of the team today," said Bulldog head coach Tony Segovia. "Two good wins at home with some crazy wind conditions and we adjusted well to it. We will continue to work hard and play 2 more tomorrow here at home."

As Coach Segovia alluded to, the Bulldogs will be back on the diamond again tomorrow this time against the Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
