North Newton, Kan. – The McPherson College men's tennis team remained perfect in KCAC play, and the women returned to the win column on Saturday as both teams went on the road and came home with a 6-1 win over the Bethel College Threshers.
After a tough loss on Wednesday at Southwestern, the Bulldog women bounced back with a dominant win over the Threshers. The Bulldogs started by sweeping the doubles, winning a #1 and #2 and getting a default win at #3. Leading 1-0 they kept it rolling in singles, winning five of the six matches. The only loss came at #2 where Erica Paradise fell in a tough three set battle.
"This is a confidence win to get us back on track," commented Coach Allen. "We are going to have a lot of matches over the next few days, so we need to recover and come back strong just like we did today"

On the men's side, the Bulldogs handled their business and rolled the Threshers. They started off strong winning all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. In singles, the only hiccup came at #2 where Julien Bodin had an off day and fell 6-4, 6-2. The Bulldog won the other five singles matches without dropping a set. The match was clinched by freshman Michael Beltran who was playing in the #1 slot for the first time in KCAC play.
Coach Allen commented on the men's win saying, "We got the start we wanted and road it to victory. All the guys seemed pretty relaxed and having fun and that's what I like out of my team."
