Wichita, Kan. – The McPherson College men's and women's tennis teams were back in action on Saturday, on the road against KCAC counterpart Friends University. The Bulldogs dropped just one match all day in route to a 7-0 sweep by both teams.
Coach Clay split up his top two doubles teams and the result was a close loss at #1 6-3, and 6-2 win at #2. A 6-3 win by Mundo and Maples at #3 gave the Bulldogs the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into the singles portion of the dual.
In singles, the Bulldogs went to work. They won all six matches in straight sets to finish off the Falcons 7-0. The Bulldogs cruised to easy wins in four of the six matches, but the Falcons made the Bulldogs work for the two wins at #3 and #6. In the end, the Bulldogs were able to handle the pressure and secure the sweep.

Coach Clay commented on the win saying, "I was happy how we swept through the singles and played at a strong level, these last few matches hopefully will jumpstart us for the rest of the season and into the post-season. I feel like we're starting to reach that peak."
With the wins, the Bulldog women are now 7-4 overall, and 5-2 in KCAC action while the men move to 9-1 overall, and 7-0 in conference matches. Saturday's win by the men secured a regular season conference championship and a #1 seed in the end of the season tournament later this month. Both teams will be back in action on Sunday, traveling to Marshall, Missouri for a 2:00 pm match with the Missouri Valley College Vikings.
