Men's Cross Country Picked Fifth, Women Sixth in KCAC Preseason Polls

WICHITA, Kan. — Following KCAC Cross Country virtual media day, the McPherson College Bulldogs men's squad was voted to finish fifth, while the women were voted to finish sixth, the league announced Thursday (Aug. 17).

The University of Saint Mary took the top spot on both the men's and women's sides, grabbing 11 first-place votes and 12 top tallies, respectively. 

On the men's side, Kansas Wesleyan received 130 points and one first-place vote, while Tabor came in third with 116 points, and Friends grabbed 114 points and the final first-place vote. 

For the women, second and third place were flipped, with Tabor grabbing the remaining first-place tally. Friends came in fourth, and York rounded out the top five with 83 total points.

The Bulldogs open the season on Sep. 1, as they travel to Hutchinson for the Terry Masterson Hutchinson Twilight at Fun Valley Sports Complex. The Women are scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m., with the men starting at 9:05 p.m.
