MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson College men's tennis team recorded a 7-0 victory over Bethany College Wednesday afternoon.
Head coach
Craig Holman's team stands at 9-6 overall, including 3-0 in KCAC action.
The tandem of
Celien Botlan and
Oscar Brouwer combined for a 6-1 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot. Third-seeded
Texas Ranger Schmidt and
Jayson Wasserfuhr recorded a 6-3 win at number three. The duo of
Simon Delgadillo and
Arthur Nardy notched a 6-4 victory at the number two spot, earning the clean sweep in doubles play for the home team.
Holman's team wasted little time in picking up wins at every position in singles action. Nardy posted a 7-5, 6-2 win at the top spot. Brouwer, seeing time at number two singles, earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the number two position. Botlan cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number three. Wasserfuhr, competing at number four, took home a 6-3, 6-0 win against his foe.
Balazs Temesvari garnered a 6-2, 6-4 win at the number five spot while Schmidt earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory at the number six position.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, March 29, when they play at Ottawa at 12 p.m., in a KCAC clash.
