SALINA, Kan. – The McPherson College men's track and field team had a tremendous outing at the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational, which wrapped up Saturday.
The Bulldogs were paced by victories from
Lamar Gordon and Kobe Brown. Gordon won the discus with a mark of 47.26m while taking eighth in the hammer throw (43.43m). Gordon garnered a top-five finish in the shot put by snagging fifth (14.41m) while Kamden Tackett was 31
st (10.65m). Tackett recorded a 17
th-place effort in the javelin after posting a mark of 39.93m.
In the running events, Brown and
Rinaldo Moore were neck-and-neck in the 200m. Brown won in 21.20 while Moore was second after finishing in 21.30.
Matthew Williams also accounted for a top-15 mark after recording a time of 22.81 for 14
th place.
Austin Glezen (29
th – 23.76),
Travis Stevens (32
nd – 24.01) and
Cody Kuss (34
th – 24.40) also competed in the event.
Amarion White snagged a bronze medal with his third-place finish in the 110m. He registered a time of 15.54.
White was 17
th in the 100m (11.62) while Glezen (11.99) was 27
th and
Travis Stevens was 33
rd (12.19). Kuss tallied a 22
nd-place finish in the 400m after touching the line in 53.19. He was ninth in the 1,500m (4:10.03).
Isaac Hale took 37
th in the 1,500m (4:42.17) while earning a 51
st-place effort (2:20.05) in the 800m.
The Bulldogs return to action Apr. 24 at the Alex Francis Classic.
