McPherson, Kan – Last night, McPherson College hosted their first Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup of the season against the Tabor College Bluejays. McPherson had won two straight contests prior to this matchup, while Tabor was coming off a 0-0 draw with Central Christian College on the previous Saturday.

How it Happened
It was a fast start for the Bluejays, scoring within the opening four minutes of the match. Off of Tabor's corner kick, the ball would ricochet towards the top of the 18-yard box, but was met by the head of Ryan Arruda who scored on a bouncing header to take the early 1-0 advantage. McPherson managed just one shot in the first half while Tabor went away with five heading into the halftime break with the lead.

rd minute, Pol Fernandez would take a shot without taking a first touch on a pass from Santino Tapia and laced it past Bulldog keeper
Alvaro Marchal to extend the Bluejay lead to 2-0. Tabor's third goal of the match came off of a corner kick taken by Martin Marinakis. From the corner flag, Marinakis placed the kick off the inside the far post and the ball bounced into the goal for the 3-0 scoreline.
McPherson ended their scoreless drought in the 77
th minute as
Nathan Van Wyck was able to score on a penalty kick to cut the lead to 3-1, but another goal would be score by the Bluejays. Tabor's Cooper Taylor scored off the redirect of a free kick late in the 85
th minute, diminishing any threat of McPherson being able to tie the match. The Bluejays rolled out of McPherson with the 4-1 victory.
