Mobile, Ala. – The McPherson College men's tennis team wrapped up their season on Tuesday afternoon, falling in the round of 32 at the NAIA National Championships in Mobile, Alabama. The Bulldogs ended up on the wrong end of a 4-0 decision to the Union College Bulldogs.
Union picked up the doubles point winning 6-2 at no. 1, and 6-4 at no. 3. The no. 2 match was at 5-4 in favor of Union when the point was secured.
In all six single matches, the first set was extremely competitive, but the MC Bulldogs were unable to collect a set in any of the matches. Union picked up the three wins they needed to secure the win at no. 3, no. 6, and no. 5.

First year head coach, Clay Allen commented on his team's performance saying, "I am so proud of these young men, they battled their hearts out today. We just had a lot of close sets that didn't go our way, but Union showed why they are a top 10 team in the country, playing well on the big points." Coach Clay added, "I am looking forward to having the underclassman back next year to make another run at nationals. For the three seniors, I would like to thank them for the time they spent with Coach Holman and myself, as well as the other coaches they played for. And as always 'It's a great day to be a Bulldog.'"
The Bulldogs wrapped up the season with an overall record of 14-2.
