Winfield, Kan. – Leg two of the McPherson College men's and women's tennis teams' fall schedule took place this past weekend in Winfield, Kan. The Bulldogs participated in the KCAC Individual Championships, hosted by Southwestern College.
In all it was another standout weekend for the Bulldog tennis teams. The men and women combined to bring home a truck load of hardware, medaling in 17 of the 18 draws. The women brought home a medal in every draw (9), and the men medaled in 8 of their 9 opportunities. The medal count included six goal, seven silver, and four bronze.
The tournament included six singles, and three doubles flights for each gender. Each school was allowed one entry into each flight. For the Bulldog women, their medal count included two gold, four silver, and three bronze. Below is the Bulldog line up and their results.

On the men's side, their eight medals included four gold, three silver, and one bronze. The only flight they didn't secure a medal was at #4 singles and that was due to the Bulldogs having to withdraw from the 3
rd place match due to an injury. Below is the men's lineup and results.

Coach Allen summed up his thoughts on the weekend saying, "Solid weekend for Bulldog Tennis, total of 17 medals, not a lot of teams have depth like we do, it's exciting from a coach's prospective to see your players having fun and giving it their all every match." He went on to add, "Now we have the ITA Regionals and we have several players that can make deep runs, it will be a battle though, but hopefully we will come out on top."

The third and final leg of the individually focused fall tennis schedule is the ITA Regional Tournament next weekend. The three day tournament, beginning on Friday and running through Sunday, will be played back down in Winfield. It is an open draw, with the winner of singles and doubles brackets getting an invite to the prestigious ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, Georgia in October.
