McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College men's and women's tennis teams were back in action on Friday evening, hosting the John Brown University Golden Eagles at the McPherson High School tennis courts. Both teams picked up shut out wins over the Golden Eagles, giving Bulldog head coach Keiran President his first career wins as a collegiate coach.
The Bulldog women didn't drop a set all evening against the Golden Eagles. They earned the doubles point, sweeping all three matches. The closest match was on the no. 2 line where Erica Paradise and Vanessa Mundo outlasted their opponents 7-5 securing the sweep.
In Singles, the Bulldog women dropped a grand total of nine games in the four matches recorded for score. They came out of the gate sharp, and rolled to a stress free victory. The match was played to decision, meaning once the Bulldogs scored the points needed to win the dual, matches were suspended and recorded as unfinished.

Coach President commented on the wins saying, "Went out today in some tough conditions but persevered and we're able to come out on top. This marked our first win of the season and my first win as a Head Coach." He added, "We still have things we need to work on and improve upon and that's what we will continue to do. Get 1% better every day! Thank you to everyone who showed up and looking forward to seeing more people out at Bulldog Tennis Complex tomorrow! It's a GREAT day to be a Bulldog!"
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday taking on Texas A&M Texarkana at 10:00 am at the Bulldog Tennis Complex, then the men will play again at 4:00 pm against Pratt Community College.
