WICHITA, Kan. — Junior Michael Beltran has been named KCAC Men's Player of the Week following an outstanding stretch of matches for the Bulldogs, the league announced Monday (Mar. 13).
A native of Madrid, Spain, Beltran helped the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record this week, including knocking off No. 20-ranked Oakland City University. The Bulldogs also came close to taking down 15th-ranked St. Thomas University, falling 4-3.
He went unbeaten in doubles this week alongside doubles partner Martin Millos. The duo took down the 10th-ranked doubles team in Alex Oviedo and Mauricio Trevino from Texas A&M-Texarkana 7-5.
"Michael has been working his butt off to be the best he could be on and off the court," head coach Keiran President said. His hard work and dedication don't go unnoticed by us as a team, and we are very proud of him for achieving this honor."
The Bulldogs hit the road for their first conference matchup, traveling to Salina, Kan. to take on Kansas Wesleyan on Thursday (Mar. 16).
