McPHERSON, Kan. — A new season of McPherson College cross country will kick off on Friday (Aug 30) when both the men's and women's squads gear up for the Spire Sunset Showdown in Leavenworth, Kan.
The men's side will see a full team of returning production, which has them picked to finish sixth in the KCAC. Production of which is led by
Brock Lauer, who will be returning from injury and ready to make a full return come Friday. Coach
Tracy Jex also believes that seniors Issac Hale and
Parker Roberts will join Lauer as impact guys going into the new year.
"They've been faithful to the program," Jex said. "We're looking forward to seeing them take the next step."
A similar story is told on the women's side of the cross country coin, as it is once again a team of returning talent from last season's squad as they are also projected to finish sixth in the KCAC. The returners who were highlighted by Jex were junior
Amari Robb, sophomore
Johanna Walker, and junior
Kamryn Nolan who also represents the Bulldogs women's basketball team.
