NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The McPherson College women's track and field team put forth a great showing at the Bethel Invite on Saturday.
Head coach Tracy Jex's team had several student-athletes competing in the field events.
Johanna Walker marked the team's lone runner at the event. She placed 12
th in the 1,500m after crossing the finish line in 6:55.82.
Cara Shultz's mark of 11.89m in the shot put was good enough for the bronze medal.
Kara Alexander narrowly missed being on the podium, snagging fourth with a mark of 11.70m. Schmidt was 13
th with an effort of 8.25m.
Shultz posted a fifth-place effort in the discus after recording a mark of 39.00m. Alexander took 13
th in the event with an effort of 30.92m. Schmidt notched a sixth-place finish in the high jump. She posted a mark of 1.41m for the top-10 finish.
Alexis Wolfe had a to-10 effort in the javelin. She posted a mark of 22.33m, which was good enough for ninth place.
The Bulldogs return to action March 28-29 at the OBU Invitational.
