WICHITA, Kan. — Fresh off their second-consecutive KCAC Regular Season title, three McPherson College Bulldogs grabbed All-KCAC recognition, the league announced Tuesday (Apr. 22).
"What a blessing this year has been for me to have the opportunity to lead this team with the help of these three ladies," interim head coach Craig Holman said. "If you want to know how to instill a winning culture in an athletic program, just watch how these three conduct themselves each day. These All-KCAC honors reflect the extra work and little things each does to make this program a source of pride for me and Bulldogs everywhere."
Alexandria Garcia, a native of Enid, Okla., was the second-highest vote-getter in the KCAC after finishing the season with a 15-5 record in singles. Garcia was 10-4 in the top singles spot this season, and was 9-1 in KCAC play. Her lone loss came to KCAC Player of the Year Daniela Herrera in the Bulldogs 5-2 win over Bethel College.
Also grabbing All-KCAC honors is Vanessa Hofer, who was named a Second Team All-KCAC player. Hofer, a native of Innsbruck, Austria, was 11-9 overall in singles this season, but held a perfect 9-0 record against KCAC opponents. Hofer was also a 2023 All-KCAC Honorable Mention.
Joining Hofer on the Second Team was Taimi Nashiku. An All-KCAC Honorable Mention in 2024, Nashiku made a huge step up this season, finishing with a 14-4 record in singles. The Windhoek, Namibia native was also a perfect 9-0 in KCAC play. Not only was she outstanding in singles, Nashiku also finished with a 15-4 doubles record.
Garcia, Hofer, Nashiku, and the Bulldogs will be in action on Thursday (Apr. 24) for the KCAC Tournament, squaring off against eighth-seeded Bethany College. The tournament is hosted by Bethany College with the Bulldogs first match coming at 2:00 p.m.
