Ed Delk ’59: An outstanding football and basketball player at McPherson College, Delk was selected to the NAIA All-American First Team for basketball in 1959. He was also an All-KCAC pick for basketball for his three year career. During that time, he garnered records for most points scored, field goals attempted, field goals scored, free throws attempted and scored. Many of the records still stand. In football, Delk was also selected All-KCAC for three years and selected All-American First Team by Williamson National Rating.

Delk has been a business teacher, coach, and athletic director and has served at Wamego, and Shawnee Heights and Hayden High Schools in Topeka. He was selected as the Knights of Columbus Man of the Year in 1978 and was co-chairman of the Midland Hospice and Capper Foundation Benefit Golf Tournaments.
