Jonathan Coachman, or "The Coach" as he's most commonly known, graduated from McPherson College in 1995. He played for Coach Trimmell and the men's basketball team for all four years at MC, earning three letters.
Coachman was named an All-KCAC First Team member three times and the conference's Player of the Year twice, following the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. He also earned a pair of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) honors during his time at McPherson; after his sophomore season, he was named to the NAIA All-District 10 First Team and then during his senior year, he earned the NAIA D-II Player of the Week award. At the time of his graduation, Coachman held McPherson College records for points scored, total rebounds, and assists. Currently he ranks third in career scoring with 1782 points.
Post graduation, Coachman entered the sports entertainment industry. After stints at local television stations, he joined the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) as a color commentator for nine years. Then in 2008, he achieved his dream job of working for ESPN where he still is today. At ESPN, Coachman hosts a variety of talk shows and serves as an anchor for their flagship show, SportsCenter.
Jonathan resides in Southington, Connecticut and is the father of two children, Jonathan and Kayana.
