Laura Sundahl Smysor '75, Lawrence, Kansas, was a four-sport athlete at McPherson College. In tennis, she posted a 41-2 record at #1 and #2 singles, was a four-time conference champion and went undefeated her senior year. A native of McPherson, Smysor was also part of the Kansas State Open women’s tennis doubles champions in 1973. In basketball, she averaged 13.8 points per game over her four-year career and still holds the McPherson College single season records for most points scored (474) and most field goals made (207). Smysor rounded out her collegiate athletic career by also lettering in track & field, where she place second in the 1975 Regional championships, and softball. Symsor has taught and coached in Lawrence since 1983.
