Tonya earned 12 letters while attending MC as she lettered all four years in volleyball, basketball and track & field.  She was a two-time All-KCAC First Team volleyball player in 1987 and 1988; she was a unanimous selection in 1988.  She was an All-District javelin thrower in 1989 and also placed second at the KCAC Championships that year.  Tonya was named the McPherson College Female Athlete of the Year twice, once in 1988 and again in 1989.

After MC, Tonya served one year in the Conservation Corp in Washington State.  She would then graduate from Tacoma Community College in 1996, passing her ARRT registry so she could become a Registered Radiology Technologist.

In 1998 she passed the ARRT Mammography Registry and then worked for MultiCare Health Systems in Tacoma, WA as a Radiology Technologist and then as a Mammography Technologist.

Tonya would then move to West Virginia with her two sons and start working for Jefferson Memorial Hospital in 2001; Jefferson Memorial has since turned into West Virginia University Healthcare – Jefferson Medical Center.  She was a mammographer, instrumental in rebuilding the Mammography department.   Tonya was also a member of the team that was instrumental in getting the first Hologic 3D Breast Tomosynthesis Mammography machine in WV and the Tri-state area in 2011.

In 2011 she also took over the position of PACS Administrator for the Hospital.

Tonya currently resides in West Virginia.
