Ronald K. Anderson ’58, McPherson, Kan. During his career at McPherson College, Ronald Anderson certainly went the distance in throwing the discus. A three-time All-American in track and field—discus, Anderson also qualified all four years for the NAIA finals in discus, and set an NAIA record in the discus in 1957. He also qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1956. Anderson was KCAC conference discus champion for two years, held the conference record in discus, and the school record in the shot put and discus. He has continued active competition throughout his adult years, especially through his involvement with Senior Olympic sports for the past eight years.

On a professional level, Anderson has taught, coached, counseled, and sponsored at the high school level in Desoto, Kan., near Kansas City. He returned to McPherson in 1976 to enter business. In the past 25 years he has also counseled at Central Christian High School in Hutchinson and established Economy Hearing Aid Centers, Inc., where he serves as president and manager.

Anderson resides in McPherson and has taught adult Bible studies for 18 years, done private counseling for 20 years, been married 44 years, and a proud grandfather for almost half that number.
