Wayne Blickenstaff '54 (Searcy, Ark.) quarterbacked the Bulldogs to their 1952 Kansas Conference football championship. An honorable mention Little College All-American in 1952, he was named to the All-Kansas Conference football first team in 1952 and second team in 1953. He ended his McPherson College football career as the school record holder for touchdown passes in a game (three, twice), season (13), and career (23). Blickenstaff was a four-time All-Conference selection in basketball, and graduated as the Bulldogs’ career scoring leader. He led the Bulldogs in scoring his junior and senior seasons when he was named to the All-KCAC first and second teams, respectively. He still holds the school record for blocked shots in a season, set during the 1952-53 season with 50. An all-around athlete, Blcikenstaff also earned three varsity letters in baseball during his McPherson College career. Joining his brother Loren ’52, a 2003 inductee in the McPherson College Athletic Hall of Fame, Wayne’s induction makes the Blickinstaffs are the first brother combination to be enshrined.

Serving as presenter for Blickenstaff was his McPherson College teammate Bob Wise.

After his arrival in McPherson on Friday, Blickenstaff kindly spent some time visiting with the Bulldog football team following their final pre-Homecoming game practice. Thank you Wayne for taking the time!
