Deryl D. Elmore ’63, Fort Collins, Colo. Coming to McPherson College with all-state Colorado high school basketball honors, Deryl Elmore continued to build on that tradition, leading the KCAC in scoring as a sophomore and ranking as top scorer in Bulldog basketball the final three years of his college career. In addition to basketball, he lettered in football and track. Elmore received All-KCAC honors for basketball three years, and was named first team in 1961 and 1963. He still holds the school record for field goals made in a single game with 18 against Friends during the 1962-63 season.

Since his graduation in 1963, Elmore has worked in sporting goods, landscaping and management, construction, and sales. Since 1995 he has worked on his own and has annually been among the top five persons in sales for Cookson Manufacturing in the central and western United States. In his spare time, Elmore works in developing an intra-city fast pitch softball team and is deeply committed to helping fight gang activity and drug and alcohol abuse among young people in his area. He is a deacon in the First Christian Church in Fort Collins.
